Before you install

Configure at least one bucket and make sure your credentials are working. See the documentation from your cloud provider for details. Here's our quick starter guide.

Docker (Linux, MacOS, Windows)

The Docker image is the most versatile way to run the Blixt server. It works on any platform with Docker installed and exposes NFS and SMB by default.

MacOS

Install Blixt from the Mac App Store. The app runs as a native MacOS file provider, giving you direct Finder integration with any object store.

We're waiting for Apple to approve our App for the App Store. Please check back soon.

Windows

Download the Blixt installer for Windows. The app runs as a native Windows cloud file provider, mounting your object store as a drive letter in File Explorer.

We're preparing and testing the Windows installer and client. Please check back soon.

Kubernetes

Deploy Blixt in your Kubernetes cluster using our Helm chart. Supports CSI driver integration for seamless persistent volume access.

We're preparing and testing the Kubernetes charts. Please check back soon.

Other platforms

Blixt runs anywhere Docker runs. For bare-metal Linux installs, embedded systems, or CI pipelines, the Docker image is the recommended approach.

While the scale out product is optimised for Kubernetes, this is not a requirement. The High Performance product can be deployed in any data center environment, including air gapped systems, etc. Please contact us for more details.
